Lovely weather, isn't it?

Post by Roger2561 » Wed Jul 02, 2014 12:27 pm

Well, it wasn't too long ago that we complaining of the super cold weather. Man, isn't it toasty outside? I love this weather. I work all day long in an air conditioned building and I can't wait to get out of here and into the real weather. This weather reminds me of when I was a kid; spend all day in the hay fields tossing bales onto the truck, enjoy a short ride to the barn and unload it by hand. I always got stuck inside where there was no air moving...and I loved it. As I got older and was at the drinking age, after the work was done and everyone cleaned up, it was time for a beer. That first slug of ice cold beer going down taste so good... Roger

I'll take this weather over what we had this past winter anytime.

I enjoy ALL weather!

Nothing will make you hot quicker than complaining about heat- the same with the cold. regardless of the temperature, its a great thing to be outdoors!

There's nothin better than a ice cold beer after a good days work! Who am I kidding? Beer always tastes good! I usually bring a few with me when I cut/split in the winter. Coffee in the moring, beer in the afternoon.

Okay, back to the weather.... I has been in the upper 80's low 90's here in Illinois a few times but yesterday it only got up to 68! I mowed the grass when I got home and it started raining a little. I had a sweatshirt on but I was still freezing. It felt like late September! We have had a lot of rain this year for once. I think well over 7 inches in June. I'm loving that full well!

I would agree with you coolidge, I'd rather put on my coveralls to keep warm than to take it all off to stay cool, besides no Ice is needed for the beer in the cold weather so it saves money

While I agree with the sentiment of hating hot humid weather I wouldn't say -20 is fine with me, there is something in-between those two! 4th of July is over now, a couple months and we will be sliding into fall which is my favorite season but right now I want to slow down and enjoy some (moderate) summer weather, that would suit me just fine! Hope everyone enjoys the rest of the summer.

here in Nova Scotia the weather last week was very humid and hot,too humid, now today its 13 degrees out,lil chilly...as far as ole memories, the baling of hay in the summer story was identical too my younger days as well, funny how stories are the same and so far apart in places...baling all day, younger guys of course stuck in hay loft stacking, but you would always get to drive a truck in the field and maybe even steal a beer when you were done, then it was down to the river to swim and get rid off all the hash rash on yer forearms, love to have them days back...
