Timberlin Sharpener?

Post by RSI » Sat Jun 24, 2017 5:47 pm

I just finally got around to ordering a Timberlin chainsaw sharpener. Anyone here have one? Hopefully it works as good as people seem to say they do.

I have a friend that has one. He actually was given it from his dad and it’s that same thing as a timberland but it’s way older. They work great for quick consistent results. You’ll get more consistency then free hand filing and faster then setting up a grandberg style jig. The only con is that you won’t be able to adjust angles.
I have an Oregon 511ax knockoff. I put a CBN (compressed boron nitrate) wheel on it and have about $200 invested. I like to sharpen at more aggressive angles tor softwood and a lil tamer for hardwood or dirty wood.

If your looking to save time on sharpening as apposed to cutting. Timberlands are quick simple and easy. I recommend them to guys who want something in-between a file and a grinder.
