I am heating the house mostly with radiators yes. I also have two kickspace heaters and a few baseboard heaters as well. But I am trying to phase out the baseboard heaters as I don't really care for them.

My thought for that was to put the plate heat exchanger on the return line to the boiler. That would pre-heat the water before it goes into the boiler. Then I was going to turn my boiler temperature down so that if the water coming from the OWB was not hot enough then The propane boiler would kick on to make up.

Does that make sense? And would that work?

That should work. Only problem is if you need to heat with propane for some reason, it will put a lot more heat into the owb than you probably want. (just waste gas, not hurt anything)

I would at least do some sort of manual valves to turn it off when the weather is warmer.
